About the Research Dissemination Conference
About 4 months ago, I shared an article about how my team and I had spent 3 weeks in a village called Rukunyu in Kamwenge district.
Well, chance later hit this month, and my team was picked to present our findings from community at the 14th MUST Annual Research dissemination conference held at Lake view Resort Hotel, Mbarara .
Initially for me, this sounded like a usual event where we just show up, eat food, take pics, meet new people , and well the day just ends.
But today, it was a bit different….very different actually. We got to present to different people from different sectors in research, professors, our own lecturers, and the feedback was overwhelming…..very nice reviews, and very new ideas about how we can grow big from a small project to actually something really important, to as far as inflicting change in our health sector.
Learning point; Get out of your comfort zone, speak and interact with people that are senior to you in your field, you will be shocked by how much you can learn in one day, you will be shocked by how much a stranger can help you discover more of your hidden self, talent and gifts.
