Memoir of an intern doctor…..day 137
My colleague while on night duty at 3am during his surgery rotation, a patient is carried in by his relatives, and he notices one is supporting the head.
His eyes met with the patient’s brain. He had been involved in a RTA and his skull had been crushed and shattered off his forehead. His brain tissue was out.
My colleague with all the adrenaline and confusion, before he could even touch the patient or even find out if the patient was alive, he picked his phone, called his boss, The Medical officer on duty that night and in his exact words said, hello Dr, I see a brain. 😂😂.
The medical officer asked him very many questions, but his only response was I see a brain. He was breathing fast, and sweating already. Later he calmed down and explained.
Dont ask me about what happened to the patient eventually, but we still laugh about this. Till today!
