Memoir of a medical intern…… Day 21

Been on call yesterday , and because it was Sunday, my day started as early as 8:00 am attending to emergencies till Monday morning today . this time I didn’t get to shower before the morning meeting. I crossed over to the next duty because I had to give a night report at 8:30am. Meeting went on till 9:45am. That’s when I took my shower and returned to ward within 40 minutes.

I made some mistakes, unwise decisions. None of these killed anybody, but I had my fair share of “being scrubbed” in the morning meeting.

Today morning at 9:45am as I walked back to shower was the first time this internship I have wished for someone …..I mean anyone to give me a tight hug and tell me…..you’ll get better at this.
