Memoir of a medical intern…Day 20

Internship has taught me lots of things sofar. Resilience, patience but most importantly, decision making .

Growing up, I have made very few major life decisions on my own. My parents have done most of it for me. What course to study, how to study, how to read, what to wear, what is important, what isn’t…..yes, all that. And probably much more.

Making the smallest of decisions has always been hard. And many times I realise that I have never known what I want.

But then here comes internship. I have to decide health/life matters for other people…my patients. Sometimes its not about what is documented in books, but how this particular patient has presented. What other co-morbidities they have.

It was a challenge at first, but now, everyday is a lesson
