Memoir of a medical intern……Day 0

Hey Lovelies, its 30th September. As earlier promised, I start a new category on this blog and its going to run for exactly one year during my internship.

Day 0, soo….. Internship starts tomorrow, but I and my entire team of intern doctors , pharmacists and nurses arrived at St.Mary’s hospital Lacor, in the northern part of Uganda, Gulu district today ahead of tomorrow’s Day 1.

So my journey actually started yesterday, 5 hours on a bus from Mbarara to Kampala. Spent the night in Kampala, and then 5 more hours from Kampala to Gulu today. The hospital sent us a coaster to pick us from Kampala…soooo the journey was quite comfortable and nice meeting all these new people from different universities and travelling together…..this journey is already making me think about flights for my next leaves to mbarara

We arrived to beautiful, spacious self contained single rooms. Warm welcome, but I have a new language to learn..Acholi. Guess I’ll learn on the job
