Memoir of a doctor intern….day 47

Its every student’s joy when their teacher complements their work. Its every Doctor’s joy when a senior doctor/ specialist complements their work.
I was in these shoes today. I’ll tell you about it.
Every Saturday morning, we hold CMEs as a hospital. The entire staff is there and every department takes turns presenting. One department every Saturday. This week/ today, obstetrics and gynaecology department presented. Earlier in the week when they chose who to make the presentation on behalf of the department, a visiting Italian doctor was picked, and I was picked to present with her. The topic was use of herbal medicines to induce abortions.
First of all, this felt like an opportunity for me, because I have always loved to talk and teach. So I gave it my all. 4 straight days of putting the work together. Guyssss…..It didn’t disappoint.
I aced the presentation. I could feel it as I presented. The room was quiet. My colleague (the Italian doctor) was excellent too. It was beautiful. We answered all questions thrown at us at the end of the presentation, and the entire room clapped in harmony. I smiled. π
After the presentation, I got enough people shaking my handπ , and this specialist from a different department approached me, shook my hand and in his words said this was a very very good presentation. I’m very impressed. I stood there all smiling and saying thankyou. He then went ahead to ask what university I studied from. I strongly said Mbarara university of science and technology. He smiled and said keep the fire burning. Keep it up. This was around 10am, but from my side, my day was doneππππ. A whole physician had appreciated my work the way he did. I’m still smiling.

Too bad I don’t have a pic of me doing the presentation
