Second chance….a poem by Rackara

Time has come and past,

My world turned up in a delirious bust.

A history of faults without an escape ,

A wish to turn back the clock,

Repetitions scare me back to the dock.

Looking out to the vast sea of misery,

Or could it be the metaphor of a boundless oceanic flurry.

It’s a very dull late night sky,

The curtain closes on the natural perpetuations of x’s and o’s ,

Darkness seeds ever so patiently into a spectrum of oranges and yellows.

The sun’s radiance chaperons the night’s dark ,

An embrace of the old ushering in the new,

Light and dark together in friendship as white and black.

An interlude of silence beauty graced in sight,

The chorus of waves subtly crashing ,

Verses of gulls and the aroma of a bouquet of morning breeze,

A song of nature written to say bye.

My prolonged decadence flashes in reminiscence.

Apologetic yet underserving of forgiveness,

I get older and life fades,

But you remain.

I wanted to be let in,

I wanted you to open up again,

I wouldn’t let you down,

I wouldn’t break you down,

But there is just too much pain.

Our paths must diverge one last time,

As I venture in search of redemption.

My crime of passion with a punishment befitting,

Out of sight and out of mind,

It’s an ending that’s only fitting.

My home, my refuge, my retreat,

You can’t be replaced even if I tried,

But to improve will be my penance feat.
