Letter to my future daughter before she joins University
Hey pumpkin , by the time you read this , am sure you will be around my age today. And probably I will have forgotten some of the important things I would want to say to you. A letter therefore becomes very appropriate
I have lived to see you grow into a beautiful, self respected , and bright young lady. I must say I envy you in every way. While I was your age , I wasn’t any good compared to you . And that’s why I brought you up this exact way to forever represent me. Probably I have been hard on you most times , but always remember mummy wants the very best for you. Every night before I go to bed, I kneel right next to my bed and pray that GOD gives you long life and good health so you can live to enjoy the fruits of your hard work.
When I joined university many years ago , I was eager, young and innocent. But most of all , I was happy because I was going to study Medicine. Something I had always wanted. I therefore stuck to my dream of being a doctor.
In life, you will meet people who think they know you more than you know yourself. They will want to make some sensitive decisions for you. But take this from mummy, there is nothing more relieving than making some decisions on your own. This way you will blame no one if things backfire. Never run away from your responsibilities too.
You will meet boys. Most of them are just users. They will tell you sweet nothings only when they want something from you.
You will get half the boys in your class telling you they like you. Don’t listen to them pumpkin because you will only have one future husband. Someone who really likes you will let you concentrate on your studies, and he will forever be there if he’s meant to be the right one.
Have fun,go swimming , attend parties , make friends, date a few boys -not just any boy.
Do things that won’t get mummy angry if she got to know about them.
Always remember am your number one fan.
Go girl, do me proud , make those boys go bananas , make the girls wonder how you do it. And if ever asked , tell them about your super awesome Mom.
