Job Hunting

If you’ve followed my blog closely over the last 5 years, you definitely know this post is coming at the right time as was expected.

So, I completed internship end of last month. And I have been a full doctor for 15 days now, also 15 days unemployed. Let’s just say I have been resting abit, trying to sleep off the unslept sleep for the last 1 year, but mannnn, I still feel sleepy as I type this at 6:33pm. No lie!

So after sleeping, and going through the process of applying for my Annual practitioner’s license, I decided to wake up and now look for a job Actively. This week, I made my signature application. You know that one Application you make and then literally just edit the address for every letter…..except for afew letters that require a body edit? Yea, you get it. I did that.

When I started out applying early this month with online applications, I didn’t feel it. It felt easy and effortless. Till this week when I decided to do the physical dropping of letters at all the hospitals that don’t have openings . Bold move.

Job hunting starts with the wardrobe. My God. So I noticed I didn’t have as many dresses or skirts that go past my knees. In my defence….I outgrew them😅😅😅. Same answer I gave my supervisor about 6 months ago. But well, a girl had to look for presentable skirts. Number 2, I think I might have to buy a printer and photocopying machine in the near future. The idea crossed my head while in med school. The handouts I printed as a student probably cost a whole machine. My God, it’s a whole bulk. Almost 8 attachments for each letter.

So today I went dropping letters. My friend, it’s a real exercise and experience too I guess. It’s a whole mood getting into composure. I got some 2 serious people who asked. Did we advertise? My response; no you didn’t, I’m applying just Incase a position shows up. Applications well received though. Now we wait/ keep looking for more places to apply. Did I mention we are applying online for jobs that require 5 years experience too?🙈

Well, jobs have to be found. Also, can I mention that all connections are not connections? And some not so connected people are actually connected? I’ll let you know how it goes.
